Abstract

They include study of 80 for acute myeloid leukemia and control samples, was from her 50 sample for Patients and 30 for control healthy (mean age from 40 to 70 years), We determined the frequency of -308 G/A TNF-a gene polymorphism by tetra-amplification refractory mutation system (TARMS-PCR). Also, we determined the association of TNF-α -308 G/A polymorphism with acute myeloid leukemia in Iraqi patients. Results: There was significant difference between genotype frequency of -308 G/A polymorphism for acute myeloid leukemia and control. Show GG (54%), GA (38%), and AA (8%) frequency in patients, while in control was GG 30%), GA (70%), and AA (0%), and show GG and AA genotypes, and related with etiological fraction (EF) in acute myeloid leukemia, while GA genotype related with preventive fraction (PF). Conclusion: Our findings demonstrate that the TN gene polymorphism in position-α308 G/A may show risk factor for acute myeloid leukemia in Iraqi population and there is association between the TNF-α-308 G/A polymorphism and acute myeloid leukemia.
